In late 2018, Steve Bannon, formerly a top aide to Donald Trump, was in the UK to deliver a address at the Oxford Union.

The speech was disrupted by numerous demonstrators, and Bannon, who was due to travel that night, told Jeffrey Epstein in an email: "Activists delayed speech I doubt I can catch the plane we r enroute to heathrow".

Epstein responded: "There. Is a gulf air that leaves at 9:50 with a stop in Bahrain". Bannon answered: "U r an excellent helper".

These exchanges were released on Wednesday together with more than 20,000 documents from the estate of Epstein, the late financier convicted of sex crimes.

The release by the House oversight committee includes an text conversation where Bannon's identity is withheld. Media outlets managed to establish his identity by matching the timeline, occurrences, and places referenced.

For instance, Epstein talks about arranging a plane from the UK for the redacted user in the messages, and commends their "address at Oxford". Bannon participated in the Edinburgh conference on November 14, and gave the speech at the Oxford on November 16.

Bannon, who faces no allegations of any misconduct, declined to comment on the request for comment.

Epstein's Assurance to Bannon

Bannon was one of the president's closest aides in the lead-up to the presidential election and in the early days of his first administration, but stepped down from the administration in August 2017.

He has admitted he was producing a film about Epstein before his death and reportedly has approximately 15 hours of footage. In a recording of his show recently, he said: "We plan to publish the series, the five-part series, in the coming year - early next year."

But the recently disclosed documents indicate Bannon's connection with Epstein went further than being his biographer, with the convicted paedophile occasionally appearing to serve like a personal assistant.

A few days before the exchange in which Epstein seemed to arranged a charter jet for Bannon, Epstein said: "what's it like to have the most highly paid booking agent in history ".

Bannon thanked him: "U r quite capable assistant", to which Epstein responded "Massages. Excluded".

Discussing a visit to "AD" in another message, Epstein told Bannon: "I'll make sure you're taken care of."

UK Politics Discussed in Messages

The published communications also reveal Bannon and Epstein talking about UK politics in that year.

On the same day his speech at the Oxford, Bannon texted Epstein: "I became involved in the EU exit issue this day with Farage, Boris and Mogg."

Then, in what appears to be a reference to the UK prime minister, the struggling UK prime minister at the time, he added: "They are trying to proceed. May soon…"

Epstein suggested Bannon: "In my view remaining as much as you can in the UK. Best-- so people get the dedication of your follow through."

Shortly after, Epstein asked: "Can Theresa may remain in power". Bannon replied: "It seems unlikely however the people here have no balls" and added "Boris ; Michael Gove; Jacob Rees-Mogg; David Davis - somebody has to step up".

May was finally toppled in May 2019 after surviving multiple attempts of lack of support in December 2018.

A spokesman for Reform UK informed media: "Farage has never been in a gathering with Steve Bannon, Rees-Mogg and Johnson." And there is no evidence that encounter took place.

The Congress will vote soon on whether the justice department should release all its records related to its probe into Epstein, who passed away in jail in that year.

Interest in Epstein's relationships with powerful figures was renewed this week after the release of over 20,000 documents from his estate.

A portion of those referenced Trump, who has repeatedly denied any wrongdoing. The leader was a acquaintance of Epstein's for a long time, but says they fell out in the 2000s, two years before Epstein was initially charged.
